What are the services like?
We strive to be a church unchurched people love to attend. Our Sunday morning experience is a little over an hour long. We sing together, laugh together and learn together. We use illustrations and lighting to create an exciting atmosphere. We also receive a weekly offering, but guest are not asked to give. We meet at 10:30am in the Worship Center. If you have any questions about our services, please call us at 409-755-1388.
What should I wear?
Casual is the norm here, but dress the way that makes you feel comfortable.
Is Journey affiliated with a denomination?
No. We are a non-denominational congregation with people from every background imaginable.
What do you have for my children?
Our children’s ministry is called JourneyKids. JourneyKids is broken down into two environments.  Voyagers is for children aged birth through pre-Kindergarten. KidVenture is for children aged 1st-5th grade.
During your children’s time with us, they get the opportunity to experience faith for themselves through worship, exciting Bible lessons, fun projects, and serving others. Our children’s services meet at the same time as the adult weekend services.
What about the youth?
This ministry’s main focus is to help students develop the character they need to withstand the onslaught of pressures that junior high and high school can generate. Velocity meets on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the gym.

What are Rows, Circles, and Closets?
We recommend people who are new to Journey to sign up for a "Launch" Circle. Launch is a seven week discussion that helps people get the most out of their faith and their church.
Call the church office at 409-755-1388 to find out more.
It's really not as complicated as it seems.
When we study the life of Jesus we understand that he spent most of his time in 3 main settings.
1. Rows: Large group settings like teaching the masses, going to festivals at the temple and in his local synagogue. We think of this as an example of the importance of church life. Not just attendance, but engagement in serving others.
2. Circles: Jesus spent most of his time with his 12 disciples. They were his closest friends and his circle. Our Circles meet all over the area, mostly in homes for accountability, belief and care.
3. Closets: Closets represent our devotional life. Jesus believed in the necessity and vitality of prayer. He had a strong relationship with his Father and encouraged his disciples to do the same.

We consider these 3 environments essential and irresistible They are essential because as followers of Christ we should follow his example. They are irresistible because the Spirit of God is always drawing us to them.

What is our "Belief Statement"?

We are a product
of what we have
in the past.
And, nothing
is a greater predictor
of what we will become tomorrow
than what we believe
We believe that people were created free and perfect. They were set in a beautiful garden, but were seduced and broke God’s spoken word to them. This tendency was grafted into human beings, destroying the gift of life, causing a debt of punishment and dividing them from the love of God. In this state there was no hope and we would have perished. Then God’s love for His people that He had created caused Him to send His Son to us.
God’s son is Jesus. Jesus was a real person who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed amazing miracles and taught truth. He was completely man and completely God. Jesus was innocent yet condemned; giving His life to restore all that was lost.
We can now find forgiveness in the belief that Jesus was sent by God to pay the debt our sins against God incurred. As new creatures in God, a joyful, peaceful and fulfilling life awaits us in God’s church. We believe the ministry Jesus had on the earth is available to His church through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus will return for His people, but if we depart this earth before then, we know we will find our place in heaven with God. We believe in a final day of judgment where we will all stand before God to be accountable for our deeds on the earth.
